At North County Kia, we feel fortunate to carry a variety of Kia models. They are very eddcient, with some models have hybrid or electric powertrains. In addition, two of the vehicles in our new inventory run entirely on electric power. The Niro EV and the EV6 are the two EVs currently on our lot, and we look forward to the Kia EV9 very soon. In this overview, we'll highlight the features of the Niro EV and EV6.
Technology
The new Kia Niro EV comes with a range of 253 miles, so it can be a practical vehicle to drive around Temecula. Its electric system gives it 201 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque and comes standard with front-wheel drive. You'll love how futuristic the cabin of the Niro EV feels.
It has a rotary dial that can help the vehicle shift gears, and the two 10.25-inch displays will grab your attention. One acts as a digital instrument display, informing you about range and performance. The other serves as the infotainment system's hub, including navigation, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and SiriusXM®. Voice recognition and multiple USB ports are some of the other high-tech features that you can take advantage of around Oceanside, CA.
Design
Kia has kept the Niro EV fairly compact, easy to maneuver, and light on its feet. At the same time, it has a nice amount of room in its cabin. It offers nearly 37 inches of second-row leg room and a cargo area that has a volume of almost 23 cubic feet. Maximum cargo capacity increases to around 64 cubic feet when you lower the rear seats.
The EV6 is a two-row model with an open, inviting cabin. It has about two more inches of second-row leg room than the Niro EV and a larger rear cargo area. It has a maximum cargo capacity of approximately 50 cubic feet when its rear seats have been lowered, less than the Niro EV offers for Carlsbad.
Performance
While two Niro EV trims run on the same type of powertrain, there are six trim options for the EV6. Some EV6s have all-wheel drive; this could be an important factor if you think you'd benefit from additional traction in some situations. The base trim of the EV6 comes with 167 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque, and rear-wheel drive.
Other rear-wheel-drive EV6 models at North County Kia can make 225 horsepower with their more robust batteries. In comparison, the all-wheel drive models are much more powerful. The Wind e-all-wheel drive and GT-Line e-all-wheel drive each generate 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque with dual motors. This is already an incredible amount of power, but it doesn't end there.
If you want to push the limits, consider treating yourself to the GT e-all-wheel drive. Its electric system delivers an amazing 576 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque. As you might imagine, the different EV6 trims come with varying ranges. The high-performance GT e-all-wheel drive can travel about 206 miles on a single charge. The other trims can do better in this regard, with the maximum range of the EV6 being 310 miles. Kia has given the EV6 an impressive technology package. Like the Niro EV, it comes standard with two large displays, smartphone compatibility, and navigation. The EV6's displays both measure 12.3 inches, and there's an available augmented-reality head-up display.
Either one of these electric Kias could serve you well, and they could be much fun to drive. Please get in touch with our Escondido area team if you'd like to learn more. Our team looks forward to hearing from you.
