Breast Cancer Awareness Month

About Breast Cancer

In the United States, breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women, and there are currently more than 4 million breast cancer survivors. Thankfully, early detection and advances in treatment have increase breast cancer survival rates in recent years. The 5-year relative survival rate for breast cancer is 99% when caught in its earliest stages.

Breast cancer death rates have declined 44% since 1989 among U.S. women. The progress is attributed to improvements in early detection and treatments.
